Privacy policy
For the MilO Trip Log app (MilO for short) for Android and this website, milotriplog.top. In effect since 8 October 2026, last changed 11 October 2026.
The short version
MilO has no account, no server, no ads and no analytics, and the app has no internet permission: it cannot send anything anywhere by itself. Your trips are kept on your phone. They leave it only in the ways listed below, each of which you start or switch on yourself, or Android does for you.
What the app keeps, on your phone
- Your trips: when each started and ended, where (the positions and the street addresses), the distance, the vehicle it was driven in, whether it is Business or Personal, and any label you gave it; and the GPS points recorded along each trip.
- Your settings: the Bluetooth names and addresses of the vehicles you paired, your work hours, the odometer readings you typed in for each, and the details the report prints: your name, company, vehicle, and your accountant's email address.
- An event log of what the app did and when (Bluetooth changes, trips starting and ending, errors), so a missed trip can be explained. It holds no GPS positions.
- Sounds you add for the app to play: a copy of each file you pick.
What leaves your phone, and how
- Files you send or save yourself. The monthly report (a PDF and a CSV with your trips, their addresses and your details) is handed to your email app addressed to your accountant, and you press send. An export file holds all your data and is saved where you choose. The event log can be shared as a text file from the Log screen; it includes the names and Bluetooth addresses of your paired devices and any address you typed in.
- Your own Android backup. If Google backup is switched on for your phone, Android copies MilO's trips, sent reports, settings and event log to your Google account, and back to a phone you set up with it. The GPS points along each trip go only to a new phone in a phone-to-phone transfer, not to the cloud. This is Android's backup, under your Google account; MilO does not run it.
- Address lookup. To turn a trip's start and end into street addresses, MilO hands those two positions to your phone's own address-lookup service (Android's Geocoder). On most phones that service is Google's and works over the internet, under Google's terms.
- The Buy me a coffee tile. The tile in Settings opens buymeacoffee.com in your browser. MilO sends nothing with it; what you do on that page is between you and Buy Me a Coffee, under its own privacy policy. A copy of MilO installed from Google Play has no such tile.
- Google Play's review card. A copy of MilO installed from Google Play asks Google Play, at up to three moments, to show its own card for rating the app: Google Play learns that MilO asked and decides whether the card appears, what you enter on it goes to Google Play under your Google account as it would in the Play Store, and MilO sends nothing of your trips with it and is never told what you did. A copy of MilO installed from this website asks for nothing.
- The Email support tile. The tile in Settings opens your own email app with a new message to support@milotriplog.top. MilO writes one line at its end: the app's version, your Android version and your phone's model. Nothing is sent unless you send it, and you can delete that line first. What you send reaches the maker's mailbox like any email, and is used to answer you.
Nothing else leaves the phone. MilO does not sell, share or collect any data, because there is nowhere for it to go.
The permissions it asks for, and why
- Location, all the time: to record a drive while the screen is off and MilO is in the background, which is how every automatic trip is recorded.
- Nearby devices (Bluetooth): to pair your vehicles and to notice when the phone connects to one or loses it.
- Physical activity: to notice that the phone is in a moving vehicle, for the alert that a drive is not being recorded, and to switch GPS on again beside a parked truck.
- Notifications: for the trip in progress, the monthly reminder and the alerts.
- Running in the background and starting at boot: so a trip can start when the truck connects with MilO closed. Setup also asks you to turn off battery optimisation for MilO, in Android's own settings.
- Network state: only to know whether an address lookup can be done now. MilO opens no connection itself.
Deleting your data
Trips can be deleted one by one on the Trips screen. Uninstalling MilO deletes everything it keeps on the phone. A copy in your Google backup is managed in your Google account (Google, Backup), and reports you emailed are in your email.
This website
milotriplog.top is a set of static pages served by Firebase Hosting, a Google service. Like any web server, it receives what your browser sends with each request, including your IP address, and Google keeps standard server logs. The site sets no cookies, runs no scripts, has no analytics, and loads nothing from other sites. The download button leads to GitHub, where GitHub's privacy statement applies, and the Buy me a coffee links lead to buymeacoffee.com, where its own applies.
Changes and questions
